A blood drive sponsored by OBI and JCMH will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, at the Altus Community Center, Falcon Road. Jackson County Ministrial Alliance monthly meeting will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, at Altus Christian Fellowship Activity Center (the old Altus Bible and Bookstore).

Rotary Club meeting will be at noon Tuesday, Oct. 4, at Western Oklahoma State College. Rotarian of the Day will be Randy Baden. Guest will be Tom Buchanan, district manager of the Lugert-Altus Irrigation District.

AARP meeting will be on Tuesday, Oct. 4, at the Towers. Potluck will be at 6 p.m. Meeting and bingo will be at 7 p.m.

Warren Senior Citizens/Community will be having their regular Tuesday music night at 6 p.m. Oct. 4. 7 miles east of Blair on Highway 19. Grilled hamburgers with chips-$1.50 and all sodas-50 cents. Coffee, tea, and desert are free.

Great Plains Literacy Council will be conducting tutor workshops from 4 to 10 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, at the Altus Public Library. Call 477-2890 to pre-register or for more information.

Coffee Cup Bunch of the Friends of the Library will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, at Altus Public Library, 421 N. Hudson. A review of "Shovel Smoke" will be presented by Ellen Yates. Open to public.

Silent Victims Walk, an effort to raise awareness to end domestic violence, will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, at Hightower Park on East Broadway and Park Ave.

Gamma Goldies will have their monthly luncheon Wednesday, Oct. 5, at Tres Rios.

Habitat for Humanity and Arrowhead Auction Gallery will have an auction at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, at 400 South Main. Viewing will be on the day of sale starting at 10 a.m. Items include household and office furniture.

It's time again for the Annual Sunset Elementary Chili Supper. Join us Monday, Oct. 17, at the Community Center for food and fun. Chili, hot dogs, dessert and drinks will be served from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Entertainment, student giveaways and a silent auction will follow. Tickets are $3 per person. Children under school age are free. Purchase your tickets in advance Friday, Oct. 14, or Monday, Oct. 17, from 7:45 to 8:15 a.m. in the school cafeteria or wait and pay at the door.
