In 1970, Jerry sold his service station and began working for Kiowa County District #2 operating a road grader. In 1977 he was elected county commissioner and served as such until his resignation in 1981. He returned to work for the county until his retirement.
Jerry was a member of the Lone Wolf First United Methodist Church.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Donna of the home; daughters, Stephanie Davis and her husband Gary of Lone Wolf, Jeanne Black and her husband Roy of Lone Wolf; grandchildren, Candace and Mike Nelson of Oklahoma City, Brad and Sundi Davis of Perkins, and Jessie and Becca Black Lone Wolf; Great-grandchildren Caleb, Whitney and Ethan Davis and Andrew Nelson.
Funeral services for Jerry Adams were to be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 5, 2005, at the Lone Wolf First United Methodist Church officiated by the Rev. C.M. Wilson, senior pastor.
Burial will be at Lone Wolf Cemetery under the direction of Peoples Cooperative Funeral Home.
