Lorayne Drury, 81, longtime Olustee resident, died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2005, at Kincannon Funeral Home with Pastor Sue O'Malley officiating. Burial will follow services at the Olustee Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.

She was born Dec. 12, 1923, in Olustee to Roy and Mildred (Motheral) Crawford. She graduated from Harmony High School in 1941.

She married Forrest Drury on Aug. 15, 1942, in Olustee. To this union of 63 years three children were born. She worked tirelessly keeping the home, raising her children and helping run the family farm.

She was a member of the Olustee United Methodist Church and was active in the United Methodist Women's organization for more than 50 years. She was a member of the Olustee Women's Club, the Home and Community Education of Olustee, the Home and Community Education of Jackson County, State of Oklahoma Home and Community Education for over 60 years and Altus Square Dance Clubs for 52 years.

She also enjoyed quilting, taking pictures and keeping up with family history, playing games, especially "42," and pitch and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Dorothy Jean in 1975; and her son, Wendell Drury in 1991.

She is survived by her husband ,Forrest Drury of the home in Olustee; her daughter, Sharon and husband Joe Glenn of Olustee; a sister, Nelda Johnson of Olustee; two granddaughters, Tamara Glenn of Memphis, Tenn.; Janetta Ray and husband David of Jacksonville, Fla; three great-grandsons, Christian, Michael and Matthew Ray of Jacksonville, Fla., and many friends.

The Drury family will receive friends Monday evening from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Kincannon Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Olustee

Community Church at 16432 State Highway 6, Olustee, OK. 73560, or the Olustee Cemetery Fund.
