ALTUS- Each year the Salvation Army is able to provide families in need a traditional Thanksgiving Day meal. The Thanksgiving Day meal will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thanksgiving, Thursday, Nov. 24. “There are people right here in Jackson and Greer counties that have no way of providing a Thanksgiving meal for themselves,” said Capt. Luke Parker, Salvation Army Corps officer. “Many people have no other family or friends to share this Thanksgiving with. That is why the Salvation Army is a place of hope for many local residents.”

The Salvation Army still needs turkeys, stuffing and pumpkin pies for the Thanksgiving Day meal. Donations and food items may be delivered to the Salvation Army, located at 521 W. Broadway. Please call 482-8577 to volunteer or for more information.
