Emmanuel Baptist Church, located at 800 N. Forrest, will have a Christmas Eve service at 6 p.m.

The Shortgrass Arts & Humanities Council, along with First State Bank, is sponsoring a New Year’s Eve Big Blow Out at the Atlus Community Center on Saturday, Dec. 31. Come listen/dance to the exciting sounds of the swing era feturing All That Jazz “A Big Band Experience.” Cost is $5 per person. Time is 9 p.m. to midnight.

Jackson County Courthouse will close at noon Thursday, Dec. 22, for an employee safety meeting. It will be closed Friday and Monday, Dec. 23 and Dec. 26 for the Christmas holiday.

Southwest Oklahoma Community Action Group Inc.’s programs will be closed Friday and Monday, Dec. 23 and 26 in observance of Christmas, and Monday, Jan. 2, in observance of New Year’s Day.
