He was born March 14, 1928, in Martindale, Texas, to the late Jesus and Felipa Hernandez. He had been a resident of Vernon since 1960 and had worked at Coy’s Food Store for 12 years. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Vernon.
He is survived by two brothers, Jose S. Hernandez of Vernon and Adam Hernandez of Altus; and one sister, Dolores Hurtado of Vernon.
Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home in Vernon.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church with the Rev. Oren Key and Deacon Art Casias officiating. Interment will be in Eastview Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home of Vernon.
