A benefit dinner will be held for Larry West of Lone Wolf from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the Lone Wolf Community building. West was diagnosed with colon cancer. All proceeds will go toward medical expenses.

The Warren Senior Citizens/Community will be having their regular Tuesday night music night Jan. 31, 7 miles east of Blair on Highway 19 at 6 p.m. Hamburgers with chips and drinks will be available.

The Coffee Cup Bunch of the Friends of the Library will hear a review of “Riding with the Blue Moth” Wednesday, Feb. 1 at 10 a.m. at the Altus Public Library, 421 N. Hudson. Written by a Hobart native Bill Hancock, the book tells the story of his bicycle trip across the nation a few months after his son Will Hancock died in the tragic plane crash in 2001 that also killed members of the OSU basketball team and other support personnel. The meeting is open to the public and there is no admission charge. Everyone is welcome.
