Mrs. Ellis was born to the late Noah and Pearl Quinn in Hughes County on Aug. 16, 1916. She married Mose Ellis on Oct. 29, 1932, in Mangum. He preceded her in death Nov. 30, 1971. Adele was a homemaker and longtime resident of Harmon County on their farm and ranch southeast of Vinson for more than 50 years before moving to Mangum. Mrs. Ellis was a member of the Reed Homemakers Extension Club and enjoyed crocheting, crafting, and cooking delicious meals for her extremely large immediate and extended family.
Adele is survived by eight sons and two daughters, Nancy Hayes and husband Mark of Lawton, Rance Ellis and wife Jean, of Mangum, Alvin Ellis and wife Jane, of Snyder, Jim Ellis and wife Wanda of Panhandle, Texas, Shirley Derby and husband Delbert, of Clinton, Kent Ellis and wife Dana of Mangum, Clinton Ellis of Arapaho, Clayton Ellis of Dover, Carl Ellis and wife Brenda of Vinson, and Randy Ellis of Crescent; two brothers, Leslie Sorrells of Council, Idaho, and Junior Sorrells of Panhandle; three sisters, Lillie Mae Crawford of Vega, Texas, Juanita Stump and Janie Sue Grissom, both of Memphis, Texas; 20 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers, and two grandchildren.
