Jazz performance, dinner and auction set

“That Altus Band” Parents Association will have their annual jazz band performance, spaghetti dinner and silent auction at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 4, at the Altus High School cafeteria. Tickets are $6 and may be purchased by calling the band room, or 477-0113.

The Altus High School Jazz Band, under the direction of Kevin Williams, will perform numerous familiar numbers from jazz, swing, and rock. A local chef will be making the spaghetti sauce in a real Italian way. There also will be a live auction between sets of the jazz band with some very special items including a scholarship at Western Oklahoma State College and a gift certificate for the bookstore, a two-night/2-rounds of golf stay at Quartz Mountain Resort, a new recliner and other surprises. The silent auction will be going during the performances as well. “This is a great event with fun and great music,” band parent president John Phelan said. “We cannot thank the community enough for all their support. Come out and hear the band, eat some great food and enjoy the auction.”
