AHS 21st and 27th at state meet

The Altus High School swimming teams competed in the finals of the state swimming championships in Oklahoma City on Monday.

Edmond North won the boy’s title while Edmond North took the girl’s championship.

The AHS boys placed 21st and the girls were 27th in a field of 43 teams.

The AHS girls placed 14th in the 400-meter freestyle relay with a time of 4:11.09. The team was comprised of Rochelle Hammonds, Danielle Hammonds, Justina Violette and Nea Systa.

Danielle Hammonds swam the 100-meter breaststroke in a time of 1:18.51.

The Bulldogs 400-meter freestyle team of Kris Ducharme, Ryan Reddick, Eric Lundgren and George Gross swam a 3:45.32 for 14th place. The same team swam the 200-meter medley relay in a time of 1:56.46 for a 16th place finish.

The Lady Bulldogs finished the season with a 22-6 season record while the Bulldogs went 24-4.
