Sophia Emelia Jordan, 95, of Millerton, died March 5, 2006.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Miller and Miller Funeral ome in Valliant officiated by Bro. Kenneth Wayne White and Sister Zelpha Boyd. Interment will be at the Altus Cemetery.

She was born June 20, 1910 in Headrick to Martin and Ora Lee (Scarbrough) Neher and had lived in the Millerton area for the past 19 years where she moved after living in Altus most of her life.

She married Frank Jordan on Dec. 23, 1928, in Tipton. He preceded her in death 21 years to the day. Sophia loved going to church and singing “I’ll Fly Away” and “Just A Little Talk With Jesus.” She worked in the cotton fields as a bole puller then later worked for A & W Root Beer. She was a hard worker. She was a member of Swink Full Gospel Church

She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Martin Neher, Marcus Neher, Woodrow Neher.

She is survived by a brother, Barney Neher of Lamar, Mo.; and two sisters, Beulah Mickel of Corinne, and Vernice Neher of Pueblo, Colo.; along with numerous nieces and nephews and friends

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
