Dustin (Dusty) Daniels Brown, 24, of Altus, died Monday, Feb. 27, 2006, from complications of diabetes.

He was born July 6, 1981, at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., to Dennis Linne` and Yvonne Kay (Farrell) Brown. Moving to Altus from Ramstein AFB, Germany, he was an avid soccer player and later assisted with coaching soccer for a number of years in the city league soccer program and as a volunteer coach with the high school soccer program. He graduated from Altus High School in 1999. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In addition to enjoying soccer, he was a gifted writer of poetry and other literature and was an Eagle Scout. Beginning in August 2000, he served a mission for his church in the Washington Spokane Mission for two years.

He was preceded in death by his cousin, Dixie Hazelton.

He is survived by his parents, Dennis and Yvonne Brown of Altus; one brother, Cory Brown of Phoenix; one sister, Lindsay Brown of Altus; grandparents, Francis and Loa Brown of Logan, Utah, and Vincent J. and Louise Farrell of Columbus, Ga.; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Altus. A Funeral service will also be conducted Tuesday, March 7, at Allen-Hall Mortuary in Logan, Utah, at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Smithfield Cemetery in Smithfield, Utah. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus.

The family will greet friends at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.
