He died Wednesday, April 5, 2006, in Hot Springs, Ark. Burial will be at the Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Gray Gish Funeral Home in Frederick.
He was born on July 19, 1934, near Victory School in rural Tillman County to Arthur Irvin and Vera Izyal (McElroy) Stout. He attended Frederick Public Schools and graduated in 1952. He attended Oklahoma State University. He served honorably in the U.S. Army. He married Joy Beth Kinder, in 1969, at Frederick. He served as a Tillman County Commissioner for six years and was most proud of his public service. During his tenor as County Commissioner, he focused on the building and improvement of county bridges. He also was a farmer and rancher and was known for trying new and innovative farming technologies long before they became popular. He was a 50 year member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity and he also was a 32nd Degree Mason, member of Frederick Lodge #249. He was a member of the 13th & Josephine Church of Christ in Frederick.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three infant children; daughter, Melonie Beth (Stout) Wiles in 1995; a sister; Rose Marie “Margie” Stout; and three brothers, Roy, Dean and Ronnie Stout.
He is survived by two sons, Michael Stout and wife Laura of Frederick, and Chasen Stout and wife Susan of Benton, Ark.; two sisters, Kay Rogers and husband Otho of Melrose, N.M., and Sue Edwards and husband Jerry of Allen; two grandchildren, Alexis Flores and Joshua Wiles.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Southwest Oklahoma, 106 W. Grand, Frederick, OK 73542, or to the charity of the donor's choice, in loving memory of Dutch Stout.
