The Jackson County Extension Office will offer its annual Spring Wheat Field Tour on Monday, May 8, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The tour will cover topics including Wild Oat Herbicide Research Studies, Wheat Variety Discussions, N-Sensor Unit (Precision Agriculture) Work in the County and the 2006 Canola Variety Trial at the Southwest Research and Extension Center in Altus.  This informative tour will have useful information for agriculture producers in the county and surrounding areas.  The tour will start at the Bob Howard home site (3 miles east of Friendship on County Road 160 or 4 miles north of Highway 62 and County Road 213 intersection) and then move to the Southwest Research and Extension Center south of Altus on Highway 283.  There will be a free lunch served at the Research and Extension Center at the conclusion of the tour.

Pre-registration is requested, but not required, by Friday, May 8, at the Extension Office, 482-0823.  Agriculture producers are invited to attend.
