With Jack Diltz as master of ceremonies, the Sportsmanship/Leadership awards and individual sports awards will be presented. All-staters, individual state champions and team state champions will be recognized, The fan of the Year Award will presented and the seniors will receive their awards.
The reception will close with the presentation of the J.D. Davis Scholarship award and the Cletus B. Street and the Mitch Windle awards
Everyone is invited to the event.
Uwe von Schamann was born in Berlin Germany in 1956. He and his mother immigrated to the United States and settled in Forth Worth, Texas when Uwe was 16.
He graduated from Eastern Hills High School in 1975 and attended the University of Oklahoma on a football scholarship.
Uwe played on OU's' 1975 national championship team. He is remembered most for his 41-yard field goal in 1977 that defeated Woody Hayes' Ohio State Buckeyes
He also played for the Miami Dolphins and was on two Super Bowl teams.
He worked in the securities and insurance business until 1993 when he returned to OU as an officer of athletic development. He left OU in the spring of 1998 and started his own consulting business.
