Summer Fusion is a time for students 6th to 12th grade to have the space and opportunity to explore creative arts like dance, music, drama, art and writing. An NRA firearms safety course on centerfire .38-caliber revolvers will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, June 2, at the Altus Public Library. The short course is designed for individuals 18 years or older. $40 fee that covers the cost of all materials and ammunition. Pre-registration is required and the class size is limited. The Knights of Columbus, Council 4889, will hold its semi-annual garage sale from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, June 3, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1500 Falcon Drive. Anyone wishing to donate (no clothing, please), drop off the items in the hall between 12 and 6 p.m. Friday, June 2.

An inspirational concert with Buster Swoopes will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, June 4, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 800 N. Forrest Street in Altus.

Sign-up for the Summer Youth Entrepreneur Camp, sponsored by Jackson County's Promise, is currently under way. Camp is free for teens 13 through 18. 89th Annual Membership Meeting for the Southwest Oklahoma Chapter of the American Red Cross will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, at the Wilson School Building, 905 N. Willard. Cake and punch will be served. RSVP at 482-5303.

1st Presbyterian Church is hosting a free picnic and games starting at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, June 10, at 208 E. Cypress. Everyone is invited.

Jackson County 4-H will be having camp from June 20 to 22 at Quartz Mountain Family Camp (by the Fun Park). $45 fee includes water slide, fun park and camp activities. Reservations will be taken until June 10. To sign up, call Jackson County Extension office at 482-0823.

The Jackson County Athletics Hall of Fame Board of Directors will hold a meeting and induction ceremony at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 8, at Western Sizzlin'. Officers will be voted in at this time.
