ALTUS - The Big Magic Book Show will be held Thursday, June 29 at the Altus Public Library beginning at 2 p.m. The program is for the whole family.

Big Magic Book is an entertaining show that uses puppets, music, songs and silliness to tell an imaginative story for children of all ages. Amy and Ryan Bellgardt of Edmond are the owners of Big Magic Book Show and also the performers. Amy and Ryan performed at 33 libraries in Oklahoma in 2005. Besides summer programs Amy and Ryan also have shows for Halloween and Christmas.

The library is still in need of pet photos. The Parade of Pets judging will be in July so the deadline for getting your pet's photo into the library is fast approaching. Don't miss out on this opportunity to show off you pet and a chance to win "Best in Show!" Photos of all kinds of pets, from chickens, dogs, or birds to snakes, turtles or tarantulas are being accepted.

The children's film is Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. This week the film is "Bark, George" Šand other doggie tails. Depending on the time we will watch two or three stories about dogs.

For more information on the library's summer reading program, "Paws, Claws, Scales and Tales," call 477-2890.
