The Lady Bulldogs pitched well, made the plays on defense and got the hits when they needed them to pull out the victory.
Junior Kim Cusher allowed only three hits and struck out one batter. But the big story of the game was the defense which committed no errors. The Lady Bulldogs have had their problems defensively throughout the season.
“We made all the plays,” AHS coach James Rubi said. “We played to our potential.”
Altus scored both runs in the top of the seventh. They got two big RBI hits from Tara Nall and Angie Valdez.
The second game of the doubleheader was a different. Altus made seven errors in the game.
Senior Haylea Lewis was the hard luck loser in the game. She allowed four hits and did not walker a batter.
The Lady Bulldogs are 9-9 on the season. They will travel to Frederick on Monday.
