A hot dog lunch will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22, in front of the City Auditorium. The benefit lunch will help with the medical expenses of Rhonda Rogers, wife of Altus Police Officer Mike Rogers. Cost of the lunch will be $3 and a donation jar will be available for any other donations.

ABY Pop Warner League will hold their first youth football games from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 30, at the Altus Junior High football field. Following the event, they will hold a kickoff celebration at the Altus Rotary Center, which will include a barbecue dinner. The cost for the dinner is $5. All proceeds will go to benefit ABY Pop Warner League for future equipment purchases.
Altus Chapter 33, Disabled American Veterans and Unit 33, Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary will have a dance at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, at the Altus Community Center on Falcon Road. There will be refreshments for purchase. The Twilight Traders Band will provide the music. Admission is $5 for singles, $8 per couple. All proceeds will help the chapter to provide assistance to veterans in the area.
Habitat for Humanity will hold a meeting from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, at the Altus Rotary Center for all interested in becoming a Habitat homeowner. The meeting will present information about Habitat for Humanity Altus Area Inc.

The Altus Hispanic Association will be hosting a Co-Ed Softball Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 14, at Davis Park in Altus. Entry fee is $125. Team trophy and T-shirts for 1st and 2nd place. 15 (max) player roster, 10 (min) players to start, five men and five women on the field at all times, can bat 12 but must bat six women and six men in alternate positions. This is a fund-raising event to help sponsor 40 students for a trip to OU for a campus tour.
