Jack Russell Graves, 75, died Aug. 17, 2006. He was born in Altus on Sept. 26, 1930, to Walter and Gladys Graves. He retired after 27 years of civil service at TAFB. He also worked at Oklahoma Press Association and OG&E.

He graduated from Abilene Christian University with a degree in Bible and religious education. He touched many lives serving as a minister for several Churches of Christ in western Oklahoma. He was an avid reader and book collector.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Gay Darlene; son, Scott Russell; daughter, Janet Gay; and three grandchildren, Joshua, Jansen and Jacob Graves; and extended family and many friends.

A memorial service to celebrate his life was held Aug. 1 at the Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel in Del City.
