The first Bluegrass Festival for Hobart will be this weekend at the fairgrounds, which is on north Lincoln Street. Seven outstanding bluegrass bands will perform on Thursday and Friday evening beginning at 6 p.m. and on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. There will be a second performance Saturday evening beginning at 6 p.m. The bands who will perform are The Hunt Family, who are the 2006 KSMU Silver Dollar City Youth Band winners, Triple L, who were the 2005 Silver Dollar City Youth Band winners, The Dyson Family from Sayre, From the Heartland, The Wichita Mountain Bluegrass Band from Cooperton, The Stephens Boys, and Pecos Valley Band.

There will be children's pony rides from the Red Hills Express of Cheyenne beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday. The Hobart Chamber of Commerce will have the concession stand for food and drinks. There will be an Open Mike Live on Saturday morning for people who want to play or sing.

Admission will be $8 for each night's performance and $10 for all day Saturday. You can purchase a three day pass for $20 to cover all the performances.

Everyone is invited to attend and enjoy the music from these wonderful bluegrass bands. Since this is Hobart's first Bluegrass Festival, we hope to build on this year's event and make next year's festival bigger and better with many people coming to Hobart from all over the state and surrounding states.
