Motorists injured when car swerves into other lane causing accident

Two people were injured in a two-car collision at approximately 8:30 p.m. Wednesday when a car swerved into oncoming traffic.

According to reports, Roxanne Chloros, 41, of Altus, was driving a 2002 Toyota Sequoia and was headed south on 283. John Joedert, 33, of Granite, driver of a 2001 Lincoln that was traveling north on U.S. Highway 283, swerved left of center and struck the Chloros vehicle head-on, right front to right front. Seatbelts were not in use by Joedert, but were in use by Chloros.

Joedert of Granite was admitted to Jackson County Memorial Hospital in serious condition with head and internal injuries.

Chloros was treated and released at JCMH.

The accident happened a mile and a quarter north of Altus on U.S. Highway 283. Josh Tinsley of the Harmon County detachment of the OHP was the lead investigator. He was assisted by Lieutenant Jerry Howell and Troopers Dirk Hamon, Steve Pothorst, Tom Pogue, Ryan Hayes, Tyler Shelby, Scott Hazle and Don Millard, along with the Altus Police Department, Jackson County Sheriff's Department, Jackson County EMS and the Altus Fire Department.
