Pearlenne Elizabeth Duke, 86, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.

Pearlenne was born Aug. 3, 1924, in Norman, to James Franklin and Clara Jane (Jackson) Neel. She married Johnnie Delbert Duke on April 25, 1943 in Tipton. They made their home on the family farm east of Blair where their children still live. Pearlenne was a hard worker and did many jobs in her lifetime. She owned a cafe on South Main in Altus, operated the Old 62 Cafe, worked for several years at Kellwoods Manufacturing as well as being Johnnie's partner on the farm. While doing all of these things she also raised her children. Pearlenne loved all aspects of life and lived each day to its fullest. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Johnnie in July 1991; sons, Kenneth Barnes and Jerry Duke; daughter, Mary Katherine Duke; and grandsons, Dwayne Barnes and Christopher Duke.

She is lovingly survived by her children, Johnny Duke Jr., Darrell Lee Duke, David Leon Duke, and Iola Earlenne Duke, all of Blair; one step-son, Roger Dale Barnes; one brother, Jimmy Neel of Marysville, Washington; two granddaughters; five grandsons; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
