The Altus Bulldogs and Port City Tigers put on a great finale to the Pewee division of Pop Warner Football League on Saturday.

The Tigers took the league title with a 6-0 win over the Bulldogs.

The Tigers, who averaged more than 30 points per game, were held in check for most of the game.

On the first play from scrimmage, quarterback Kevin Doyle hit wide receiver Luke Booker for a 35-yard pass completion. The Bulldogs continued to drive down the field behind the running of Kyle Burns, Dusty Burgess and Doyle. The blocking of Chase Garrison, Josh Wilmes, William Ray, Dylan Pryor, Kaleb Kerr and Matt Martin helped open holes for the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs drove to the one yard line when disaster hit as the Bulldogs fumbled and the Tigers recovered.

The second half, like the first half, was a defensive battle.

The Tigers couldn't drive against the stout Bulldog defense led by Martin, Pryor, Booker, Devin Huckaby, Daryl Joy, Chris Ippolito, Burns, Garrison, Chase Castillo, Burgess and Doyle while turnovers were costly to the Bulldog offense.

The Bulldogs fumbled on their own 35 yard line early in the fourth quarter. The Tigers took advantage of the short field and scored the only touchdown of the game.

The Bulldogs had another opportunity when they drove deep into Tigers territory. They faced a fourth and 12 situation. Burns was brought down after a nine yard gain to seal the victory for the Tigers.

The Tigers finished their season at 6-0 while the Bulldogs ended with a 4-2 season mark.

In the earlier contest the Falcons defeated the Cowboys to end their season.
