OLUSTEE - An unidentified mother and two of her children, twins, and possibly other passengers, were traveling north on Hwy 6 from Olustee when the vehicle wrecked at 7:51 a.m. today.

A complete report was not available at press time, and Highway Patrol officials said they did not know if there were other passengers in the vehicle.

They did say that the mother and one of the twins were taken by ambulance to Jackson County Memorial Hospital in serious condition and that the other twin died after being ejected from the vehicle, still in it's car seat.

Reports say that the car seat slid for several feet before coming to a stop.

Apparently the car went into the ditch, and when the driver tried to get back on the road, the vehicle flipped and skidded.

Why the vehicle went into the ditch is being investigated.
