They approved the minutes from last meeting on Monday, May 23
and approved reports from the Assessor's Office, the Health Department, Sheriff's Office, and the Alcoholic Beverage Tax Report.
There were no officers' reports.
Blanket purchase orders were received and approved for the Highway Department, Sheriff's Office, Commissioners' Office, and the County Clerk's Office.
No action was taken on estimates or any change orders dealing with Courthouse fascia project.
Bob Howard was approved to serve on the Jackson County Memorial Hospital Authority Board of Trustees, term ending 6/30/2015.
The Appropriations for the month of May, were approved.
The commissioners approved the transfer of Appropriations for the County Clerk’s Office for $500 for a new scanner.
They also approved the transfer of Appropriations for the County Commissioners Office for $700 to purchase a new computer.
The commissioners opened bids for two new articulated motor graders for District #1. The lowest and best bid came from C.L. Boyd for $184,536 (base price) each. Commissioner Marty Clinton asked they select option number 6, which also offered a rear ripper for each of the graders for $12,023 each. These two new graders and rippers were approved by the commissioners.
A youth detention services agreement was approved between ROCMND Area Youth Services, Inc. and the Board of County Commissioners of Jackson County. They charge $17.02 per child, per day.
Resolution 2011-25 was approved for transferring monies from County Insurance to Gen. Fund (R-3CI) on building(Courthouse) loss due to freezing. This insurance money totaled $20,846.
In new business, Chair Cary Carrell wished to note there was a Journal Entry of Judgement sent to John Wampler regarding a case by Ronald and Sheryl Willingham against the City of Altus and the County Commissioners.
There were no public or vendor participation items. All claims were approved and the meeting adjourned at 10:38 a.m.
