Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Kincannon's Memorial Chapel with Rod Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.
He was born July 19, 1923, in Hollis to Frank W. Lockwood and Goldie E. (Crabb) Lockwood. He attended Altus Public Schools. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked for the Katy Railroad as a brakeman/conductor and retired after 35 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion and a Mason for 52 years. He had been a member of the First Baptist Church of Altus. He married Lorena Leah Herring on Oct. 10, 1991, in Altus.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Maude Bell Lockwood and Lola Mae Palamar; and a brother, D.P. Lockwood.
He is survived by a son, Stephen Odell Lockwood of Billington, Wa.; a step-daughter, Renee Diana Parrent Anderson; three step-sons, J.G. Walton Parrent Jr., Daniel Gale Parrent and Matthew Dave Parrent; a sister, Hazel Crones of Odessa, Texas; a brother, James William Lockwood of Altus; two grandchildren, ten step-grandchildren, seven great-step-grandchildren and many friends.
