He was born on Dec. 29, 1913, in Leslie, Ark., to Ernest Edward and Ethel (Hopkins) Taylor. He traveled by train as a youngster to Greer County and attended Liberty School south of Granite. He married Ruby Faye Tuley on June 27, 1936, in Blair, at the home of Minister Brock of the Blair Church of Christ. They spent 48 wonderful years together before her death on Sept. 19, 1984. He was a faithful and long-time member of the Granite Church of Christ. He was a cotton and wheat farmer and loved working with his cattle.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruby; one brother, Willis; three sisters, Amanda, Ora Mae and Oakley.
He is survived by one son, Willie Taylor and wife Wilma of Claremore; one brother, Ernest Taylor and wife Ruthie of Granite; one granddaughter, Jane Ann Berry and husband Jim of Sand Springs; one grandson, Glen Taylor of Dallas; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
The family will greet friends today from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Greer Funeral Home in Granite.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday at the Granite Church of Christ with Roger Todd officiating. Interment will follow at the Granite City Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Granite.
