Tipton, Indiahoma hit Cottonbelt finals

TIPTON - The Indiahoma and Tipton boys won their semifinal games on Thursday night to advance to the finals of the Cottonbelt Conference Basketball Tournament.

Indiahoma defeated Duke 65-40 while Tipton outlasted Blair 65-39.

In girls consolation play, Olustee defeated Tipton 45-26 and Lone Wolf downed Davidson 44-39.

Tipton 65, Blair 39

(boys semifinals)

Tipton broke open the game by outscoring the Broncs 26-8 in the third quarter.

Chance Luckett paced the Tigers with 29 points. Jordan Robinson had 10 points.

Brett Mills led Blair with 18 points.

Indiahoma 65, Duke 40

(boys semifinals)

Indiahoma led from start to finish and were never really threatened.

William Kiser scored 24 points to lead Indiahoma.

Duke was paced by Jacob Stephens' 11 points

Lone Wolf 44, Davidson 39

(girls consolation)

The Lady Coyotes trailed for most of he first half. They rallied in the second half.

Both teams had their problems at the free throw line. Davidson made only one of 10 free throws in the game.

Lone Wolf could have made it easier on themselves, but they hit only six of 16 charity tosses and were one of 10 in the second half.

The Lady Coyotes were led by Heather Hodges who poured in 23 points.

Morgan Day was Davidson's top scorer with 11 points.

Olustee 45, Tipton 26

This was an easy one for the Lady Eagles.

Kandice Croft led Olustee with 15 points while Adela Reyes finished with 11 points.

Tipton's top scorer was Whitney Soliz, who finished with eight points.

3:25 p.m. - Olustee vs. Davidson (boys consolation championship)

4:45 p.m. - Eldorado vs. Indiahoma (girls third place)

7:25 p.m. - Blair vs. Duke (girls championship)

8:45 p.m. - Tipton vs. Indiahoma (boys championship)
