Duke girls, Indiahoma boys win Cottonbelt titles

The Duke girls and the Indiahoma boys reign as champions of the Cottonbelt Conference basketball tournament which conclude dSaturday at Tipton.

The Indiahoma girls and the Duke boys claimed third place trophies while the Olustee boys were consolation champions.

A consolation championship girls game between Olustee and Lone Wolf was not played. Lone Wolf officials declined to make the trip to Tipton because of the weather conditions.

Duke 38, Blair 36

Blair trailed 22-13 at halftime but when Kendra Shaw made a free throw, the Lady Broncs tied the score 35-35 with 2:02 left in the game..

An Autumn Roberts free throw gave Blair the lead with 55 seconds left in the game.

However a three-point shot by Duke's Kerra Lewis gave the Lady Tigers the lead for good.

Free throw shooting was a disaster for Blair. They hit only six of 18 charity tosses.

Tabitha Crouch paced Duke with 14 points. Kerra Lewis had 12 points.

Shaw led Balir with 12 points.

Indiahoma 62, Tipton 57

William Kiser scored 29 points and Jeff McClung had 14 points to pace Indiahoma.

Chance Luckett and Tyler Overton had 16 points each for Tipton.

Duke 45, Blair 43

boys third place

Duke led Blair 41-34 with 3:20 left in the game before the Broncs put on a furious rally.

Michael Pray hit a three-pointer and Blair trailed only 41-40 with 1:25 remaining..,

A three-point shot by Brett Mills in the waning second fell off and Duke preserved the victory.

Jacob Stephens and Jeffrey Wolff each score 11 points to pace Duke.

Mills had 17 points, Brady Almaguer and Pray finished with 10 points for Blair.

Indiahoma 43, Eldorado 36

girls third place

This was a close one until the end. Indiahoma outscored Eldorado 8-3 in the final two minutes to open up a gap.

Dee Ann Tucker scored 21 points to lead Indiahoma.

Katy Ballard tallied 2o points to pace Eldorado.

Olustee 68, Davidson 58

boys consolation

Mitchell Basaldua and Tyle Hankins scored 20 points each to lead Olustee to the consolation title. Zach Swanson chipped in 13 points.
