Snyder, Hobart, Hollis and Navajo advanced in the consolation round of the Tri-County High School Basketball tournament on Friday at Western Oklahoma State College.

The Snyder Lady Cyclones ran circles around the Granite Lady Panthers with a final tally of 40-30 and Hobart's Bearcats clawed their way to a victory over the Mt. View/Gotebo Tigers 69-51. The Hollis Lady Tigers devoured the Lady Tigers of Mt. View/Gotebo 58-29, while the Navajo Indians stomped the Granite Panthers 58-45.

It looked as though these two teams were playing Ping-Pong with the score all the way up until the fourth quarter, when the Lady Cyclones upped the ante and their points by picking up several key fouls. Snyder made 17 points off free throws alone to advance past Granite for a shot at the consolation championship on Saturday.

Candice O'Neal led Snyder in scoring with 15 points, trailed by Jetta Trammell with 11 points.

Krystina Creason led Granite with 14 points.

The Bearcats set out to prove a point early in this game: they would not lose again, outscoring the Tigers 19-9 in the first quarter; however, the boys from Mt. View/Gotebo refused to just hand over a victory and went point for point with Hobart in the second and third quarters. But it was the last quarter that sealed the Tigers fate as the Bearcats went on to outscore them 19-11 for the win.

Junior Larry Bailey scored a phenomenal 28 points to lead the Bearcats with help from Shae Ferguson who added 13 points.

Charlie Worley and Ryan Turney led in scoring for Mt. View/Gotebo with eight points apiece.

Hollis coasted its way to the finish, locking in their place in the Consolation round for Saturday.

These two teams appeared to be equally matched for the first 10 minutes of this game, that is until the Indians scampered past the Panthers late in the second quarter, outscoring them by 12 points. And although Granite tried to redeem itself after half-time, it was too little too late as the Indians damage from the first half proved to be irreversible.

Jade Terbush with 18 points and Jacob Parsons with 17 points put in serious work as the leading scorers for Navajo.

Scoring leaders for Granite were Jamme Barrera with 14 points and Chris New with 13 points.
