Benivamondez was coming into Altus from the west on W. Broadway when a south bound pickup on Market Road, driven by William Cox, pulled out into the line of traffic clipping the left rear tire of the Benivamondez vehicle. Benivamondez's pickup then flipped, hit the curb on the southeast corner of the intersection, and slid several feet on its side, taking out the stop sign. He was treated and released from JCMH.

There were no passengers in the vehicle. Cox was cited for failure to yield.
