Altus show set for this weekend
Dates for the 2007 Jackson County Junior Livestock Show have been set for Feb. 23 through Feb. 26.
Darrin Ames serves as chairman of the Livestock Show Action Group, and Rod Nichols serves as general superintendent of the show.
This is the 63rd year for this youth agriculture related educational program sponsored by the Altus Chamber of Commerce. The overall purpose of the show is to highlight agriculture and provide a forum for the youth of our county to look at agriculture as a career choice. These students spend many hours raising their animals, keeping records and then showing the animals. The early estimate for entries for the 2007 show is approximately 380 animals.
