Jr. Livestock Show gets under way Friday
The 2007 Jackson County Junior Livestock Show will be held Friday, Feb. 23 through Monday, Feb. 26.
This is the 63rd year for this youth agriculture related educational program sponsored by the Altus Chamber of Commerce. The overall purpose of the show is to highlight agriculture and provide a forum for the youth of our county to look at agriculture as a career choice. These students spend many hours raising their animals, keeping records and then showing the animals. The early estimate for entries for the 2007 show is about 380 animals.
The Show Catalog is available at the chamber office and at www.altuschamber.com .
The Premium Auction will be held Monday, Feb. 26. Tickets have been sent to all former bidders of the Premium Auction.
All activities will be held at the Jackson County Expo Center.
