The Altus Chamber of Commerce and the Altus Kiwanis Club will again partner together to hold our Legislative Forum Luncheons in Altus. Dates for these forums are on Fridays, Feb. 16, March 16, April 20 and May 4.

Sen. Mike Schulz, Sen. Tom Ivester and Rep. David Braddock will all be on hand for the upcoming Legislative Luncheon this Friday.

Rodger Kerr is serving as vice president of public affairs for the chamber this year and will introduce the elected officials at the luncheon. Molly Reid is serving as president of the Altus Kiwanis Club for 2007.

The Legislative Luncheon is being held in conjunction with the weekly Altus Kiwanis Club meeting and taken place in the Student Center of Western Oklahoma State College.

People are encouraged to be there at 11:45 a.m. to go through the buffet line. Cost of the luncheon is $9. Kiwanis Club members make their reservations with their club secretary; all others need to call the Altus Chamber of Commerce at 482-0210.

“This is a good time to find out, first hand, what is going on during the current legislative session,” said Chamber President Holley Urbanski.

Braddock begins his final term in the House of Representatives; Schulz was elected to complete the term of Sen. Bob Kerr in 2006 and was re-elected for a four-year term beginning in 2007; and Ivester of Elk City was elected to District 26, which was the district held by Sen. Gilmer Capps who retired.
