Charles Gipson passed away March 27, 2007 in his home with his wife by his side. Charlie was well known in Southwest Oklahoma and North Texas for his work as a farm mechanic through Green Motor Company and Box Implement. He was also a well known musician and played weekly at several community gatherings. He loved the simplicity of life. Although he loved his wife and daughters tremendously, everyone that knew Charlie knew that Scruff, his dog, and Chico, his rooster were on the top of his list.

Charles was born January 27, 1938 to Edley Ray and Arebelle (Dorries) Gipson. He was the youngest of seven children. He married his best friend, May Bitz Allen and was blessed with six lovely daughters, Marie Timmons and husband, John, of Altus; Christy Duffy and husband, Mike, of Altus; Kim Rumschlag and husband, Gerry, of Altus; Sandra Walck and husband, Brent, of Byars, Oklahoma; Coleen Burns and husband, Thomas, of Garden City, Kansas and Shannon Davis and husband, Rick, of Tulsa.

He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, whom he adored; one sister, Eileen Love of Choctaw, Oklahoma and one Brother, Calvin Gipson, and wife, Joyce, of Altus; two sisters-in-law Carolyn Gipson of Blair, and Mildred Gipson of Texas survive him. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews as well as many, many, friends and a special brother-in-law, Carl Bitz.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Juanita Coleen and Marie; two brothers, Larry and Wallace Gipson.

Services for Charles Gipson will be at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 29, 2007 at the Church of God, Taft and Byers Streets, in Mangum, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Warren Cemetery under the direction of People's Co-operative Funeral Home, Lone Wolf.
