Marshall, known to many as “Pops,” was born in Grandfield to Marshall A. Leonard and Rebekah Jane (Stephens) Leonard, on Nov. 24, 1930. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Marshall married Joyce Russell in Lawton on April 25, 1952. He was of the Baptist faith. Marshall enjoyed fishing, hunting and being with his family. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Marshall was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Rebekah Leonard; and eight siblings.
He is survived by his wife Joyce of the home; sons, Monty Leonard and wife Patricia of Sand Springs, Benny Leonard of Altus, Jesse Leonard of Marietta, Terry Leonard of Altus, Larry Leonard of Altus, and Lonnie Leonard and wife Robin of Altus; 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends.
A private inurnment is scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, May 7, 2007, in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson. Mobley-Dobson Funeral service of Sand Springs is handling the arrangements.
