Police Department warns of auto thefts

During the past few weeks the Frederick Police Department has investigated numerous citizens' reports of thefts from their motor vehicles. The victims and locations associated with these particular thefts were:

  Monday, May 28th, Denise May 1003 N. 12th, reported person or persons entered their vehicle and removed her purse. Investigated by Officer Brandi Blankenship.

  Wednesday, May 30th, Chris Ellis 1414 Cindy reported persons or person entered their vehicle and removed a purse. Investigated by Officer Scott Skinner.

  Friday, June 8th, Patricia Castanon 200 S. 18th reported that their pick-up had been stolen from their residence and driven 6 miles south of Frederick and the person or persons then stole the Pioneer Compact Disc player from the dash.  The vehicle was located 6 miles south of Frederick by the Tillman County Sheriffs Office. Investigated by sergeant Jay Nobles and assisted by the Tillman County Sheriffs Office who recovered the reported stolen vehicle.

  Sunday, June 17th, Kenneth Schrick 214 N. Main, reported that person or persons entered their vehicle and removed a black toolbox without a lid and miscellaneous tools. Investigated by Assistant Chief Joel Neely.

 Monday, June 18th, Thomas Challacombe 1014 Wall Street, reported that their vehicle had been entered and a personal checkbook was stolen.

Monday, June 18th, Chris Longacre 1103 Easy Street, reported that their vehicle had been entered and a Winchester 22 cal rifle in a tan & olive soft gun case and a Marlin 30-30 lever action rifle in a crčme colored soft gun case were stolen.

Monday, June 18th, Austin Robertson 817 Williard, reported that their vehicle had been entered and a wallet and keys were stolen.

All three of these criminal acts were investigated by Officer Scott Skinner.

 There have be other incidents these past few days where a homeowner has observed persons prowling around their vehicles upon North 15th in and around the 1500 block and upon North 14th around the 1100 and 1300 blocks.  These occurred the Tuesday night during the storm that struck the City. One of these incidents upon North 14th involved two Caucasian males in a light colored vehicle. These persons are persons on interest to the Frederick Police Department.

 If anyone should have any information about any of these criminal acts, please contact the Frederick Police Department. You can either speak with the officer that investigated a particular incidents or any other officer. These individuals committing these criminal acts against these victims should be brought to justice and held accountable for their actions.
