(2) Real time information regarding the present level of Lake Frederick, and the precipitation in the Lake Frederick watershed are available from the following link: http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis/uv?site_no=07311415. Th lake crested at slightly more than 32 feet last Friday evening, with water running out the emergency spillway to protect the dam.
(3) Mosquito abatement activities commenced this morning with the placement of larvacide in areas of standing water. If the wind is not blowing too strongly this evening, mosquito fogging will take place.
Residents can greatly assist in this effort by emptying any water holding containers on their property and mowing their property as soon as frequently as possible.
(4) Due to the need to tend to other weather-related damages, limb
pickup by the City has been suspended. Residents with limbs which they would like to dispose of now may take them to the Street Department yard on S. 8th this week between the hours of 7 AM to 4 PM. Once the landfill dries out, limbs can be taken there again.
More information will be provided as it becomes available.
