Candidates for the office can file declarations of candidacy beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, July 23.
Secretary of the County Elections Board Mary Mitchell said the filing period ends at 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 25.
Candidates must be a registered voter and must reside in County Commissioner District #2 which includes precincts 7, 9, 10, 14, 19 and 21. Declarations of Candidacy will be accepted at the County Election Board Office.
Party nominations for office at state in County Commissioner District #2 will be selected in the primary election scheduled for Sept. 11. The general election, if necessary after the primary, will be held Oct. 9.
