Construction workers using a jackhammer to make way for new sewer lines inside the M23-24 suites inside the Altus Plaza Shopping Center accidentally caused the fire alarms to go off earlier today.

A massive cloud of concrete dust from the use of the jackhammer not only had on-lookers mistaking the incident for a fire, but the fire alarms registered the density of the concrete dust as smoke, therefore setting off the alarm.

The fire department responded quickly only to find out that there wasn't a fire at the scene.
