Banquet to recognize achievements in 4-H

The 2007 Jackson County 4-H Achievement Program will be held Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007, at Western Oklahoma State College Student Center at 6 p.m. Outstanding Members for each 4-H Club and Junior and Senior County Hall of Fame winners will be presented. KEY Club members will also be recognized.

Medals will be awarded in many different projects areas and 51 new “Gate Signs” are just some of the other awards on tap for the evening.

All 4-H members who turned in their medal participation records will receive their meals courtesy of 1st National Bank. All 4-H supporters and alumni are invited to attend. Contact Dana Butchee at 482-0823 to make your reservation. Tickets for the banquet may be purchased at the Extension Office, 2801 N. Main Suite A, from 8:00 AM-4:00 PM beginning Monday, Aug, 6th. 1:00 PM, Monday, August 13 will be the last day meals can be purchased and /or reserved. No meals will be ordered for reservations that have not been paid in advance. No meal tickets will be available at the door.

Tickets cost is $7.75 per person. The meal will include Chicken Fried Steak or Chopped Beef Steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, corn, tossed salad, dinner rolls, iced tea or lemonade and chocolate cake.

This year's theme is 4-H CELEBRATES OKLAHOMA. Displays will highlight shooting sports, horse clubs, land judging, ambassadors, Youth Action Conference, Roundup, and Tri County 4-H Camp and Sewing Day Camp.

4-H members are planning for a huge turnout for the banquet. All 4-H families, alumni and community partners are encouraged to attend.
