The Altus Public Library will be featuring local artist Loweta Chesser as the instructor for an acrylic painting workshop to be held from 6 to 9 p.m. over three evenings at the library beginning Aug. 21 and ending Aug. 23.

The cost for the class is $30 and includes all materials. Space is limited so it is necessary to call the library at 477-2890 to reserve a spot. The class is sponsored by the Shortgrass Institute and is made possible in part by a grant from the Oklahoma Arts Council.

Chesser is a very successful artist with her work being displayed all across the United States. She has spent many years honing her skills and perfecting her craft.

Her work has been displayed at the Altus Public Library and the Museum of the Western Prairie.

Her gentle teaching method will move the aspiring acrylic painter in the direction they wish go, along with the development of their painting skills.

For more information call the library at 477-2890.
