Cusher had a no-hitter going until the fifth inning. She struck out 12 batters and did not allow an earned run.
Meanwhile, the Lady Bulldogs provided enough offensive support to the pull the game out. Jannelle Durrough and Angie Valdez each drove in runs in the first inning with singles.
Eisenhower scored two unearned runs in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game.
But Altus responded well in the top of the seventh. Fallon Fausch walked and Ronica Ruiz laid down a bunt that moved Fausch to second. Valdez then came up with a game winning hit that scored Fausch.
Cusher retired the Lady Eagles in order in the home half of the seventh inning and the Lady Bulldogs had their first win of the season opposite seven losses.
“When you have Kim on the mound you have a chance, and we made plays (defensively),” AHS coach James Rubi said.
Altus will travel to Hobart for a three-way with the Lady Bearcats . It will begin at 6 p.m.
