Last week a fumble at the goal line foiled an opportunity for the Altus High School freshman football team to defeat Lawton Eisenhower.
Monday, the Bulldogs traveled to Lawton and once again a fumble on the one yard line with two minutes remaining in the game was costly and Altus lost a 12-6 decision to the Wolverines.
“It was just like a carbon copy of last week,” coach Jimmy Childs said.
Altus dominated the second half but they could cash in on their opportunities.
Trailing 12-0 early in the fourth quarter, quarterback Nolan Cox threw a 35-yard pass to Bob Laub.
Altus is now 2-2 on the season. They will travel to Cache on Oct. 1
