They are asking residents to help them collect old cell phones, ink jet printer cartridges, DVD movies and video games, DVD players, laptop computers, digital cameras and other such technical items that are taking up valuable space in your home, office and life. This even includes damaged and non-working items.
This equipment will be sold to EcoPhones to recycle the items rather than to fill landfills. All the proceeds will benefit the Oklahoma Literacy Coalition, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. The Oklahoma Literacy Coalition will earn cash for every item and will be guaranteed to increase resources for literacy.
Donations can be dropped off at the Altus Public Library or the Hollis Public Library until Thursday, Oct. 25.
