Farm City Week banquet tonight

Annual Farm City Week activities, sponsored by the Altus Chamber of Commerce, continue tonight with the Farm City Banquet to be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Altus High School Cafetorium.

Featured entertainment will be talented young local vocalist Ashley Wheeler and her Livewirez Band. Among the selections will be a song that Ashley recent ly co-wrote, a Centennial song titled “Oklahoma, Home Sweet Home.”

The event will be catered by Three Rivers Catering. Maurice King will serve as master of ceremonies.

Another highlight of the banquet will be the presentation of the 2007 KWHW “Legends of Agriculture” award. KWHW's Eddie Wilcoxen and Dick Fontana will make the presentation.

Farm City Week activities will wind up on Friday as Col. David Allvin, commander of the 97th Air Mobility Wing at Altus Air Force Base, hosts an orientation flight of a C-17 and/or KC-135 for invited farmers and ranchers.
