Frederick will hold their annual Christmas Parade beginning at 11 a.m. on Dec. 15. Groups interested in participating should contact the Frederick Chamber of Commerce at 335-2126, Cheryl Orr at 305-3982 or 335-2112.

This year's theme for the parade is "100 years of Christmas," in honor of Oklahoma's Centennial.

The parade will begin at 8th and Grand and will proceed down Grand Avenue to Highway 183. The parade will then turn left on Highway 183 and proceed north to the courthouse parking lot where the parade will end.

KYBE 95.9/K96 The Coyote will broadcast the event live from their radio station located on the parade route.

Featured in the Christmas parade will be a restored 1910 Brush automobile, similar to the one driven by Frederick's native son's, Bud and Temple Abernathy on their return trip from New York to Oklahoma following their historic horseback ride in 1910.

The restored automobile is on display at the Pioneer Heritage Townsite Museum in Frederick.

All types of groups or businesses are invited to enter a float or other entry. Those entering floats are asked to make entries specific to one of the decades during the past 100 years of Oklahoma's statehood.

All surrounding towns are invited to participate.

Entry forms are available at the Frederick Chamber office, the Frederick City office, or the Gray-Gish Funeral Home in Frederick.

For more information, or for an entry form, contact the Frederick Chamber of Commerce at 335-2126.
