The Altus Municipal Trust Authority met last night, immediately followed by a regular meeting of the City Council.

After approving the minutes for the regular Municipal Trust Meeting on Nov. 6, the board unanimously voted to approve all agenda items, including purchase orders for the Enterprise Fund for fiscal years 2006-2007 and 2007-2008, respectively; and acknowledging a presentation of Certificate of Appreciation to Larry Madden, Assistant Electric Superintendent.

The City Council meeting also unanimously voted to approve all items as well, including minutes from its Nov. 6 meeting and purchase orders for the general fund for fiscal years 2006-2007 and 2007-2008, respectively.

Purchase orders for the Workers Comp fund, Assurance fund, Donation fund, Airport fund, Street and Alley fund were also included in addition to monthly reports from the American Red Cross, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate), Fleet Maintenance Fuel Report, Southern Prairie Library System and Southwestern Youth Services, Inc.

After a short presentation from SWAT (Students Working Against Tobacco), the board elected to meet at a later date to prepare city ordinances geared toward decreasing the number of youthful smokers here in town.

Furnishings in the FEMA trailer located at the City Cemetery and old Altus Police officer badges were declared as surplus before the Council dispersed to convene in executive session to discuss the renewal of the contract for the city attorney.
