Funeral Service for former Frederick resident Reba Hamby Harness Parker age 82 of Grapevine, Texas will be at 10:00 A.M., Monday, November 5, 2007 at the Burkhardt Chapel in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery with Pastor John Horton officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home. Mrs. Parker passed away Saturday morning, November 3, 2007, at Irving, Texas.

Reba Lee (Hamby) Harness Parker was born August 8, 1925, at Frederick, Oklahoma to Clarence Edward and Nettie May (Roberts) Hamby. She attended Frederick Public Schools. On March 13, 1942, she and Oda Otto Harness, Jr. were united in marriage at Frederick, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on April 9, 1987. Reba was employed by the City of Frederick for many years. In August of 1994, she and L.J. Parker were married at Vernon, Texas. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Frederick.

She is survived by her husband of the home; a daughter and son-in-law: Patsy and Rus Cox of North Little Rock, Arkansas; a sister: Billie Hamby Newsom of Lake Charles, Louisiana; five grandchildren: Jason Cox, Melissa Cox, Melinda Vest, Connie Cox and Ian Cox; and five great-grandchildren: Ivy Cox, Judd Cox, Britney Matthews, Chris and Hunter Vest; and several nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband: O.O. Harness, Jr., two sons: Ricky and Terry Harness; and one brother: Laverne Hamby.

Memorial contributions may be made to the donors choice in memory of Reba Hamby Harness Parker.

Visitation will be Sunday evening, November 4, 2007, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
